I needed to illuminate a walkway between my garage and the neighbor's garage, and these ground staked solar lights do exactly what I needed. I was able to put 1 at each end of the walkway where they get full sun during the day, and they stay illuminated all night long on a full charge.The LED's are very bright, so you will want to make sure they are angled down if you're going to be looking towards them. If you want to illuminate the side of a building or tree, they are versatile enough to do that too. The stakes are easy to install and once in the ground, stay in place for both the position and angle.
These came already charged a bit, so they worked okay the first day. But after leaving them in the sun for a few days, they charged to capacity and were very bright. They come with stakes that you can put in the ground (or not). I love the look at the base of a tree, and I pointed one toward a dark corner of my yard. Works well to illuminate the area.
For a simple solar light, these work really nicely and look great. They seem to charge just fine with the sun.
We needed light shown on a specific area of the home. Our prior lights were more diffuse and did not light up the house numbers. These fit the bill better than the ones with diffuse light. Solar is the way to go for a couple of reasons: (1) You can pick up these lights and place them wherever you want without wires or a plug source being a constraint; (2) The power source (the sun) is free. Have used them for a month now without issue.
Perfect for spotlighting outdoor decor. Downside is the solar panel positioning is limited by where you aim the light itself. For this a design with the panel separate from the light housing would be better. Otherwise great little lights.
