Living in the city, I would never drink tap water even after it is boiled. I always use a water purifier, and most of the time I boil the purified water again. Still, you always wonder how well the purifier actually works, regardless of what the manufacturer claims, so I wanted to test it myself.
This little device is inexpensive and very convenient to use. You just dip the sensor into the water, and the screen gives you a quick reading of the total dissolved solids. It also shows the water temperature, which is a nice bonus. The results help me compare tap water, purified water, and boiled water so I can actually see the difference rather than just guessing.
It is small enough to store anywhere, the display is clear, and it responds quickly. For something this affordable, it gives a surprising amount of peace of mind. If you are curious about how clean your drinking water really is or if you want to check your filter performance from time to time, this is a very useful little tool to have at home.
This water tester does what it says it will do. It was easy to use. That qualifies as quality in my experience. It's not cheaply made but it's not water safe, so follow the instructions and make sure to dry off after each use. Mind the water line. This is a nice tool to have to make sure your family is drinking quality water. Easy to understand if you keep the manual/instruction packet. Its quick and hasn't had an issue in functioning once.
Takes the guesswork out of water quality. The readings are fast and easy to understand, and it instantly confirmed how effective my new water filter is. I also use it for my aquarium. It's pocket-sized and the thermometer feature is a nice bonus. Simple one-button operation. Highly recommend for anyone concerned about their drinking water or tank/pool health.
Few of us can confidently say that the measurement accuracy of this device is correct within a given range unless we take it to a lab or compare it against a benchmark device. For now, I will assume it is accurate enough.
I'm using it to test our double-filter water purification system. I just changed the filters, so my timing is good. The device indicates that our water quality falls within the pure category compared to our very hard tap water, which is a good sign. Now I know when I'll need to replace the $50 filters.
The last set of filters lasted 2.5 years, even though the suggested lifespan is only 6 months. The only reason we changed them was that the water flow had significantly decreased. Although the water tasted fine, we lacked an objective measure of its quality. Under the heading of “Be careful what you wish for,†we might find that the purity declines sooner than what we can taste, meaning we may have to spend money to change the filters sooner than expected. Oh well...
Overall, the device is fairly and competitively priced.
Surprisingly solid little tester. Super easy to use and gives quick, clear readings. I bought it to check my filtered water, but now I'm testing everything in the house just to see the numbers. The screen's bright, the thermometer's accurate, and it feels like decent quality for the price. Definitely worth having around if you're even a little curious about what's in your water. Works well especially if you're curious about hardness.
